FAQs

Where can I park? Parking is limited by the museum, but available in all the downtown lots including those by City Hall and downtown. A trolley shuttle bus (see map below) will run all day and bus stops will be marked with signs.

Will there be live glass blowing demonstrations? Yes! At 10am, 11am, 12pm, and 2pm, 3pm, 4pm. Pre-registration is required and is available by clicking HERE or using the button below. Live streams of the demonstrations will also be viewable in various parts of the Museum.

Is glass art affordable? Absolutely! There will be amazing glass art for every budget.

Will there be music? Yes, Scott Dercks will play two sets, at 10:30-12:30pm and 2-4pm.

Will there be an award ceremony? Yes, at 4pm.

Who is the juror? Rebecca Engelhardt, Collections/Exhibitions Manager at Museum of Glass in Tacoma, Washington.

What can I eat? There are a wide variety of foods available from many food trucks.

What can I drink? Water, soda, beer, and wine are available to drink. IDs will be checked for wine and beer.

What is there for kids to do? There will be four free “make and take” art projects for kids under a tent in the front yard.

Can I sit down somewhere? Yes, there will be numerous chairs and tables on both sides of the museum.

Is the museum open? Yes, it is free and open to the public 10:00am-4:30pm.

Are there outdoor restrooms? Yes, in front of the museum and on the lakeside lawn.

2024 Juror Announced

The 2024 GLASS Arts Festival juror is Rebecca Jeanne Engelhardt, Collections and Exhibitions Manager for the Museum of Glass, Tacoma, Washington. Engelhardt has over 30 years of experience in museum settings. Her responsibilities at Museum of Glass include oversight of the development and implementation of exhibitions and care and management of the Museum’s Permanent Collection. Engelhardt joined Museum of Glass in 2005 bringing expertise from The Smithsonian Institution, The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, Terra Museum of Art,  and other Museums throughout the US. Engelhardt earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Western Washington University, and a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from The George Washington University.
